This list includes the names of all persons who served in the Australian Army, whether their service was long or short term. All ranks are included. Those who served in the Militia units (Largely confined to Australia) and the Volunteer Defence Corps are included but identified with their entry having an extra Category of either CMF or VDC added at the bottom of their page.

Many of those who served in the 2nd AIF began as members of the CMF, signing on to the AIF when their unit was warned for overseas service. CMF full time members were able to be posted to units that served in Papua New Guinea and the nearby islands that were Australian Territories.

Likewise female members of the Army appear on this list and also have an additions Category added to their record, AANS for Army Nursing staff, and AWAS for those other than nursing staff.
