Pre WW 2
During ww1 Sidney had served with the Royal Artillery in France, Palestine and Mesopotamia. Sid arrived in Fremantle from Liverpool via Singapore with wife Linne Amelia on the SS Gorgon on 15 Jan 1921. Linne was two years older than Sid.
Electoral Roll entries: 1925 - 1937 at 7 Mile Group Settlement, Peel Estate; 1943 at 56 Clements street, Claremont, soldier.
War Service
Sid was taken on strength by the Western Command General Details Depot on 1 Nov 1940. On 4 Aug 1941 he was transferred to the Western Command Base Postal Unit and was promptly detached back to his earlier unit as their Postal Orderly. On 15 Aug 1941 he was promoted Corporal. From 29 Aug 1942 until 5 Oct 1942 he was hospitalised in L.M.C. Home, and on his return to his unit he was granted leave until 9 Nov 1942 when he was discharged as medically unfit.
