Pre War
As an infant, Raymond arrived in Fremantle with his family on 5 Aug 1925 aboard the SS Beltana, having sailed from London.
War Service
On 28 Mar 1943, Ray enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allotted to 'D' Company of the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. On 1 May 1945 he was placed in the Reserve along with the rest of his unit.
Post War
During 1946 Ray married Dorothy May Cocking (1925 - 2001) in Perth. Dorothy died on 13 Oct 2001 aged 76 in Duncraig. They had four children.
