War Service
On 23 Mar 1942 George enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale, and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion with an Army number of W67688. However, on 7 Aug 1942 George was transferred to the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion, and on 7 Feb 1944 at Pinjarra he was given a new Army number of W93541. On 13 Mar 1944 in Pinjarra, George was discharged at his own request
