War Service
On 16 Jan 1942 John was mobilised at Claremont, but not taken on. John enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps on 26 May 1942 when he was taken on strength by the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion. On 7 Feb 1944 John was given a new Army number W21478, and he was placed in the Reserve on 31 Jul 1944.
