Pre War
Harold married Annie Maud on 24 Aug 1939. Daughter Beverley Maud (25 Mar 1933 - ), and Son Harold Robert (11 Apr 1935 - )Prior to enlisting Harold was employed at the State Brickworks at Byford.
War Service
On 27 Aug 1941 Harold enlisted in the RAAF at No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre, mustered as a Guard. He was posted the same day to No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF to undertake No P137 Recruit Drill Course. On 13 Oct 1941 he was posted to No. 6 Service Flying Training School RAAF in Geraldton. Harold was appointed as a Leading Aircraftman on 31 Mar 1942 before being transferred to No. 77 Squadron RAAF on 31 Jul 1942 where on 1 Aug 1942 he was promoted Temporary Corporal. Harold joined No. 76 Squadron RAAF on 13 Jan 1943. On 26 Aug 1943 Harold was remustered as a Motor Cyclist, and consequently returned to aircraftman status.
