Pre War

On 29 Feb 1935 ALbert married Alice Pryor Thatcher in Armadale.

Albert enlisted in the RAAF on 24 Sep 1940 at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre, mustered as Trainee Mechanic. He was posted two days later to No. 4 School of Technical Training RAAF to undertake No. 22 Recruit Drill Course, and on completion of his course he was transferred on 17 Nov 1940 to No. 1 Engineering School RAAF where he trained to be a Flight Mechanic. Training complete for the moment, he was transferred on 21 Feb 1941 to No. 1 Aircraft Depot RAAF.

On 20 Jul 1941 Albert transferred to No. 2 Air Navigation School RAAF and on completion of the course he was posted to No. 6 Service Flying Training School RAAF, and appointed Leaing Aircraftman on 28 Aug 1941. On 7 Sep 1941 Albert was posted to no. 70 Reserve Squadron RAAF

29 Dec 1942 transferred to the Works Training Unit RAAF 13 Mar 1943 posted to the Works Supply Unit RAAF -- No, 1 Airfield Construction Squadron RAAF 1 Apr 1943 promoted Temporary Sergeant ?? to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF [[No. 5 Central Recovery Depot 29 Jan 1945 posted to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF to undertake his discharge on 9 Feb 1945
