On 15 Apr 1943 Mary enlisted in the Australian Women's Army Service in Perth, and on the 18th she was posted to the [[6th AWS Training Company]]. Training completed, on 24 Jun 1943 she was posted to the [[4th Australian Ambulance Car Company]] as a Trade Group II Motor Transport Driver. From 14 Jul until 1 Oct 1943 she was detached to the [[110th Australian Base Hospital]] staff. This was followed by a period with the [[38th Australian Camp Hospital]] from 3 Nov 1943 until 26 Jan 1944 after which she was detached to the [[118th Australian General Hospital]]. On 15 Apr 1943 Mary enlisted in the Australian Women's Army Service in Perth, and on the 18th she was posted to the 6th AWS Training Company. Training completed, on 24 Jun 1943 she was posted to the 4th Australian Ambulance Car Company as a Trade Group II Motor Transport Driver.
