War Service
Enlisted at No. 4 Recruiting Centre RAAF on 3 Jun 1942, mustered as a Trainee Group V. On 14 Jun 1942 Edgar was sent to No. 5 School of Technical Training RAAF in Perth and having completed some training was posted to Armament School RAAF at Hamilton in Victoria. Soon after, on 19 Sep 1942 Edgar remustered as an Armourer Group II and was was posted to No. 7 Squadron RAAF, joining them at Nowra, New South Wales.
