Early recruiting of AWAS and VAD recruits in Western Australia appears to have involved ''5th AWS Recruiting Depot'' which in November 1942 was at Swan Barracks Perth,  but in November 1942 was, along with the ''6th AWS Training Company'' had moved to the Claremont Teachers College. In February 1943 the ''Western Australian Line of Communication Area AWAS NCO School'' was authorised, to also be based at the Teachers College. Brief History
