Pre War

Electoral Roll entries - 1914 - 1916 Jarrahdale, mill hand. During 1915 Patrick married Sarah Amelia Reed in Jarrahdale. on William Patrick born 26 Dec 1915 in Jarrahdale.

War Service

Enlisted in Jarrahdale, and two weeks later was assigned to the 13th reinforcement draft for the 28th Battalion.

On arrival in Plymouth he was sent to Rollestone to complete his war readiness training.

Patrick proceeded to Étaples in France from Folkestone on 15 Nov 1916 aboard the HMT Victoria to join his battalion, and was taken on strength by them on 4 Dec 1916.

Wounded on 3 May 1917 with shell wounds to his right side and chest, he was treated by the 6th Australian Field Ambulance, the 3rd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, and the No 14 General Hospital in Wimereux. He was embarked 5 May 1917 on HS Pieter de Coninck and returned to England where he entered the 2nd Southern General Hospital in Bristol.

Discharged from hospital on 27 Jul 1917, he was granted leave from 30 July to 13 Aug 1917 before reporting to No 1 Command depot at Perham Downs. On 12 Sep 1917 he was transferred to the Overseas Training Brigade where after analysis he was sent back to Perham Downs as unfit for front line service. On 8 Oct 1917 he was sent to Sutton Veny and after evaluation returned to Australia on 1 Nov 1917 with defective eyesight.

Discharged 5th Military District on 23 Jan 1918.

Post War

Electoral Roll entries - 1922 - 1940 a mill hand in Jarrahdale with Sarah; 1943 - 1949 a soldier at 65 Parry street, North Perth; 1954 a night watchman living at 8 Smyth road, Shenton Park; from 1958 at 84 Beatrice street, North Innaloo until their respective deaths.

A daughter Phyllis Mary was born in 1918 at Jarrahdale; and another Agnes Amelia on 26 Dec 1921 at Jarrahdale, a third was Beryl Irene born 1923 in Jarrahdale, and the fourth Doreen Patricia in 1925 In Jarrahdale. Doreen died 20 Dec 1961.

During WW2 Patrick enlisted at Jarrahdale on 24 Oct 1940 with Reg No W30446 in Citizens Military Forces serving as a Gunner in the West Coat Defences. He was discharged on 23 Apr 1947.

Sarah died on 17 Jun 1982 aged 89 in North Innaloo. Children Florence Elizabeth a stenographer in her 30's was still living with them until 1968 or later.
