Pre War

Parents were Richad and Mary (Parker). Prior to callup had been a stock clerk with Vavuum Oil Co. Had finished 8 years schooling followed by a year at Stott's Business College.

War Service

Lloyd enlisted in the RAAF at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre on 20 Jul 1943, mustered as a Clerk Stores Assistant TG V. From 24 July until 20 Aug 1943 he undertook the P236 Recruit Drill Course at No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF and on completing the course he was posted to the unit's staff. On 20 Jan 1944 he was promoted Leading Aircraftman, and on 13 May 1944 he was remustered as a Clerk Stores TG III.


Following a brief interlude on 20 and 21 Sep 1945 with the No. 2 Reserve Personnel Pool RAAF Lloyd was posted to HQ North West Area RAAF on 22 Sep 1945, remaining with them until 7 May 1946 when he was posted to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF, to undeergoe discharge proceedings. However, before it occurred he was granted 28 days Special Leave Without Pay from 18 Dec 1945 until 14 Jan 1946. On 15 Apr 1946 he was promoted Acting Corporal with his discharge taking place on 31 May 1946, with Lloyd receiving 47 day's pay in lieu of unused credits.

Post War

During 1946 Lloyd was a member of a musical group in Roleystone known as 'The Hilarions'. Later, in 1948 Lloyd married Eleanor Marion Bettenay. They were to have three children.
