The majority of the Regiment, along with Ron, were evacuated late in the evening of 14 Dec 1915 by a lighter to the steamer Abbassia for Mudros where they arrived before day break on 15 Dec 1915. Following several days on the island, they departed for Egypt aboard the HMAT A10 Karoo at 4:30pm on 16 Dec 1915, disembarking in Alexandria on 20 Dec 1915.
