Patricia Curtis enlisted at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre on 30 May 1942 and was mustered as a Trainee Radio Operator. The same day she was posted to No. 3 WAAAF Training Depot RAAF to undergoe basic drill training before being sent on 28 Jun 1942 to the No. 1 Radio School RAAF in Richmond, Victoria to participate in the No. 13 Radio Operators Course from 30 Jun to 27 Jul 1942.
