War Service
On 28 Aug 1940 Max joined the RAAF, mustered as a Tailor. His initial posting was to No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF where he began by undertaking a Recruit Drill Course from 28 Aug - 2 Oct 1940. On 11 Oct 1940 he was transferred to Station HQ Pearce and on 1 Mar 1941 he was appointed as a Leading Aircraftman. On 7 Nov 1941 he was transferred to No. 5 Embarkation Depot RAAF in Perth.
