Alwyn had served in the CMF from 1916 until 1920. Electoral Roll entries: 1925 at Cunderdin, farmhand; 1926 at 31 Victoria avenue, North Fremantle, labourer; 1931 at Chapman road, Geraldton, labourer; 1934 - 1937 c/o H.D. Larwood, Helena Valley, labourer; 1943 at Bedfordale, gardener.
War Service
Alwyn enlisted in the RAAF at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre on 16 Jun 1942, mustered as a General Hand - Works. The same day he was posted to the No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF to undedrtake a Recruit Drill COurse, and following training, as a General Hand he was posted on 13 Aug 1942 to No. 4 Service Flying Training School RAAF at Geraldton where on 16 Dec 1942 he was appointed a Leading Aircraftman.
