War Service

George enlisted in the RAAF at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre on 18 Sep 1943, mustered as a Trainee Technical. He was posted the same day to No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF at Pearce where he participated in Recruit Drill course No. P.244 before commencing the No. 316 Trainee Fitter's course course at No. 5 School of Technical Training RAAF on 13 Nov 1943. Course completed, on 19 Feb 1944 he was transferred to No. 1 Engineering School RAAF to attend the No. 360 Trainee Flight Rigger's course from 6 Mar until 27 May 1944.
