William was born in 1894 (some records state 1895) to parents William and Esther A. Tumber in Folkestone, Kent, England.
Marriage
William married Muriel Zadie E. L. Thain in September 1921 in Elham, Kent in England. The couple had 2 daughters.
Residences
According to 1939-1940 rates books, William and Muriel were living in Kelmscott on the corner of 4th Road (now Davis Road) and Railway Road (now Streich Ave). According to electoral rolls 1963, William lived on Mosaic Street in Riverton working as a dispatch clerk.
Community Involvement
Vice president of Kelmscott Agricultural Society in 1945, President from 1946 until 1955 (ten years). He was recognised for his service to this organisation in 1958, being inaugurated as a "Life Member".
