Pre War
War Service
Clarice enlisted in the Australian Women's Army Service at Claremont on 20 Oct 1942 aged 34. On 14 Nov 1942 she was posted to Fixed Defences Fremantle. On 23 Sep 1943 she was reclassified as Trade Group II Instrument Operator. From 22 May until 30 Jun 1944 she attended and qualified at an AWAS NCO School. With the need for coastal artillery declining, on 31 Dec 1944 Clarice was transferred to Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot for reposting.
On 28 Feb 1945 Clarice was posted to the 55th Australian Searchlight Battery (Mixed) until 24 May 1945 when she was transferred to Western Australian Echelon & Records. On 30 Mar 1946 Clarice was transferred to Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot for discharge which took place on 2 Apr 1946.
