Early Life

His birth in 1894 was believed to be in Collingwood Victoria. Little is known of Jack's early life. It is believed he was born Manslueto Giovanni Mangini, with his first name Giovanni being changed to John and hence Jack. He arrived in Kelmscott in mid 1979. His father was John Mangini and his mother was Ann Mary Delzoppo

Marriage

Jack had a previous marriage to Catherine E.Smith before meeting and marrying Alice Mangini her while on a trip across the Nullabor and married her in 1918 at Boulder W.A. He was in his 70s, when her met Alice she was in her 50s at the time they were married which lasted at least 25 years. Jack had twin girls with Catherine E. Smith, Catherine Ruth and Elizabeth born in 1933. Elizabeth was stillborn and Catherine died at the age of `13.

Occupation

Jack was a retired banker (this may have been in the late 1960s). He was also a Headmaster at Gosnells State School in 1954.

Community involvement

Jack was Treasurer at St Mary's in the Valley Anglican Church in the late 1970s and possibly early 1980s.

Community Involvement

Jack met Alice Mangini on trip across the Nullabor. They were amongst the intrepid people who drove across the Nullabor before it was a sealed road.

Death

Jack died on 12 November 1985. He was cremated at Karrakatta and has a plaque at Kelmscott.
