Rev Lindsay officiated and Mr Horace DEAN rendered a violin solo during the signing of the register."[2]

Beatrice enlisted on 24 May 1943 at No. 1 RAAF Recruit Centre in Melbourne and was posted to the RAAF School of Administration at Trinity Collee, Carlton the same day. Her enlistment record lists special qualifications as Plays piano, Fire fighting (Singapore), 1st Aide under Wartime conditions, speaks Malay. Beatrice was mustered as a Trainee Officer.
