Name ANZAC Memorial Park
Location ANZAC Crescent, The Glades, Byford, 6122
Dedication Date 18th April, 2015

ANZAC Memorial Park commemorates those from Byford who served in World War One.

History

ANZAC Memorial Park was established as part of The Glades residential development to commemorate men from the local area who died in WWI. The Serpentine-Jarrahdale RSL received grants from SITA and the "Saluting Their Service " Program.


Setting

The park includes a life-size bronze sculpture of a Light Horse soldier and horse, as well as low curved walls inscribed with the names of 321 soldiers from both World War I and World War II.

ANZAC Memorial Park
This memorial was unveiled on the 18th April 2015 by the Western Australian State President of the Returned & Service League of Australia the Hon Graham Edwards, AM
We remember with thanksgiving those who made the supreme sacrifice for us in time of war
May the offering of lives have not been in vain.
Today we dedicate ourselves to the cause of justice, freedom and peace ; and for the wisdom and strength to build a better world.
Lest we forget

The names of those who served during both World War I and World War II are included, superimposed over bricks on a retaining wall, in no particular order.
