Pre War

Prior to enlistment, Dorothy had completed 9th Standard schooling and had attended 2 years of dressmaking studies at at Perth Technical College. She had received training as an Air Raid Warden, and had completed a First Aide Course. Electoral Roll entry: 1943 at Albany road, Kelmscott.

War Service

Dorothy enlisted at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre on 30 Jun 1942, mustered as a Sick Quarter Attendant. Posted to No. 3 WAAF Training Depot RAAF the same day, she undertook a Basic Drill course before being transferred on 24 Jul 1942 to the No. 5 Initial Training School RAAF at Clontarf. However, she was then detached on 20 Aug 1942 to No. 5 School of Technical Training RAAF where on 29 Sep 1942 she was reclassified as a Sick Quarter Attendant pay group IV. Dorothy was formally transferred on 22 Jan 1943 to the No. 5 School of Technical Training RAAF and on 13 May 1943 she was remusterd as a Nursing Orderly.


On 13 Oct 1943 Dorothy was transferred to the No. 5 Embarkation Depot RAAF to prepare for discharge which occurred on 15 Oct 1943.

Post War

During early 1944 Dorothy married Raymond Keith Moon.
