Early Life
George was born in Nottingham and emigrated at age 20 to Australia with his parents and siblings aboard the SS Largs Bay, arriving in Fremantle on 22 Mar 1923. He had settled in Roleystone, by the age of 21. His middle name of 'Walker' was in honour of his paternal grandmother, Eliza Aitken Beales (nee Walker).
Marriage
Married Dolores Canaletich of Roleystone on 15 March, 1926. [1]. Delores died on 6 Sep 1989 aged 81 in Armadale. The couple had three children including sons Brian (1926 - 2014) and Arthur Geoffrey (1930 - 2017).
Community Contribution
George was a founding member, and first President, of the Roleystone-Karragullen Cricket Club, suggesting the formation of the club in March 1950 and providing £12 in funding to go towards equipment.[2]
