Cerberus 9 Jun 1939 until 27 Oct 1939 as an Ordinary Seaman. Canberra 28 Oct 1939 until 27 Nov 1940 - next day to Perth Captured 1 Mar 1942 as a result of the HMAS Perth being sunk in the Sunda Strait when in company with HMAS Houston. Transferred from Thai camp to Fukuoka POW Camp, Japan on 15 Jan 1945. Name on Fukuoka List, as of 15 August 1945. Freed at Fukuoka Arrived back in Australia on 9 Oct 1945. discharged 4 Aug 1947
