Pre War
Prior to enlisting held a First Aide and Home Nursing Certificate, and was a Nursing Sister with St John Ambulance Brigade. Had passed English, Latin and Arithmetic at Junior Certificate level in 1934.
War Service
Peg enrolled in the WAAAF as an Aircraftwoman at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre in Perth on 18 Feb 1942 mustered as a Sick Quarter Attendant, and was sposted the same day to No. 4 Recruit Depot RAAF where she participated in a Recruit Drill Course. Her next posting was to No. 5 Initial Training School RAAF at Clontarf on 19 Mar 1942. She was then posted to RAAF Base Laverton, Victoria on 23 Dec 1942, and then to No. 1 RAAF Hospital at Wagga Wagga in New South Wales on 21 Feb 1943.
On 1 Jun 1943 Peg was remustered as a Nursing Orderly, promoted Temporary Corporal on 1 Dec 1943, and was a participant in No. 8 Nursing Orderlies Course. Peg was posted back to Western Australia on 5 Jun 1944 to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF, although she placed for duty with Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH). Her next posting was to No. 144 Radar Station RAAF on 11 Jul 1944, promoted to Temporary Sergeant on 1 AUg 1944, and remained with them until 1 Apr 1945 when she was posted back to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF with duty at PMH.
On 5 Jun 1946 Peg was posted to RAAF Base Pearce and was eventually discharged on 12 May 1947.

Post War
During 1958 Marguerite married Arthur Albert Barfield in the Canning District. Arthur died on 4 Sep 2015, aged 91 in Willagee.
