As a 9 year old Alfred sailed from London on 6 Sep 1925 for Fremantle aboard the P&O Ship SS Barrabool with parents Alfred James and Millie Roseanna. Their previous address was Homefield Farm, Sutton-on- Hone, Kent.

During 1953 Alfred married Jean Dorothy Brett in Perth. Jean in Bentley on 22 Mar 2010 aged 89 ? Children were Chris, Jennifer, Robert, Len, Yvonne and Alicia.
