Pre War
War Service
On mobilisation Clifford was posted to the Naval Auxiliary Patrol at HMAS Leeuwin as an Ordinary Seaman II. On 1 Jul 1943, still with the Auxiliary Patrol he was promoted to Cadet. The next day he was promoted Able Seaman. n 1 Nov 1944 Clifford transferred to the Royal Australian Navy Volunteer Reserve (RANVR).
Clifford was posted to HMAS Mother Snake on 30 Jun 1945 the day of her commissioning, and was a member of her crew until 8 Nov 1945 when she was transferred to the British Civil Administration in Borneo on 8 Nov 1945. It appears that Clifford was then shore based until his demobilisation on 16 May 1946.
Post War
