War Service
Entered camp on 7 Dec 1915 and on 18 Jan 1916 he was sent to the 22nd Depot NCO School. Made a Corporal for the journey to Egypt. On 23 Jun 1916 he was transferred to the 3rd Double Squadron at Serapeum where James was promoted to temporary Corporal on 1 Jul 1916.
