On 21 Feb 1943 she was detached to the 6th AWS Training Company, and on completion of basic training on 15 Mar 1943 she was posted to the 118th Australian General Hospital. On 14 May 1943 she was paid an adult wage having turned 21 years of age. On 21 June she was admitted to the hospital as a patient, returning to duty on 20 Jul 1943.
