On 22 Nov 1940 he was promoted Temporary Corporal. Harry was posted to Northam on 1 Sep 1941 before being re-posted on 3 Oct 1941 to [[Western Command Detention Barracks]] in Fremantle. On 31 Oct 1941 he was promoted Temporary Sergeant, with his rank confirmed on 20 Jan 1943, before reverting to Corporal at his own request on 31 Aug 1943. Harry emigrated to Western Australia, leaving Avonmouth (Bristol) aboard SS Changwiola on 3 Aug 1925. He had served from 7 Jan 1915 in the Royal Marine Light Infantry, Plymouth Division.

War Service
