Norm was seen by a Medical Board on 28 Jun 1943 and classified as Class 'B', and was therefore transferred on 7 Jul 1943 to the [[Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot]] for reallocation. on 29 July he was transferred to the [[5th Australian Tank Workshop Company]], but on 1 Nov 1943 he was admitted to the [[118th Australian General Hospital]]. On the 16th he was discharged to the Faversham House convalescent facility, remaining with them until 4 Dec 1943 when he returned to his unit. On 17 Jan 1944 Norm was transferred to the [[5th Australian Base Workshop]], but on 14 Apr 1944 he was transferred to [[Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot]] to prepare for his Medical discharge (dislocated right shoulder) which took place on 18 Apr 1944.

War Service

Norm enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 1 Oct 1941 at Claremont, but before he could commence training he was hospitalised in the Claremont Camp Hospital on 5 Oct 1941 with Influenza. He was released on 10 Oct 1941 to the AASC Training Depot.
