Beryl enlisted on 4 Jan 1943 at the No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre and was mustered as a Telephone Operator Trade Group IV. She was transferred the same day to No. 3 WAAAF Training Depot RAAF to undertake a Recruit Drill Course No. 11. On 6 Feb 1943 Beryl was posted to the No. 5 Volunteer Air Observers Corps RAAF, remaining with them until 10 Nov 1944 when she was transferred to HQ Western Area RAAF.

Post War
During 1949 Beryl married Robert Andrew Landgren in Perth. Robert died on 22 Nov 1991, aged 65 in Kardinya. They had five children. Electoral Roll entries: 1949 at Fifth road, Armadale, postal employee; 1954 at Scott road, Kelmscott; 1968 - 1977 at 10 Third road, Armadale; 1980 at 13 Mounsey street, Kardinya. In 1994 when Beryl sought her War medals, she was living at 42 Sowdewn drive, Samson, Western Australia.

Beryl's husband Bob Landgren was a Leading Aircraftsman who also served int eh RAAF within Australia.
