By 16 Sep 1942 her training was complete and she was transferred to the Area Signals, NSW Lines of Communication. On 15 Jan 1946 Margaret emplaned in Lae, New Guinea for Perth, deplaning in Perth on 17 Jan 1946. She was admitted to the 110th Australian Base Hospital the same day for treatment of Dermatitis Otitis Externa (dermatitis to the ear canal).
