Original enlistment was in the CMF on 12 Sep 1940 when he was posted to the [[Western Command Bulk Issue Petrol and Oil Depot]]. He was called up for full time duty on 30 Sep 1941 and on 16 Jan 1942 he was setached to the [[Special Mobile Force]] at Bushmead until 17 Aug 1942 when he was transferred to the [[3rd Australian Corps Troops Supply Company]]. On 26 Aug 1942 Stanley was chargeds with having been AWOL from 8:30am on 22 Aug 1942 until 8:30am on 24 Aug 1942. Stan forfeited 2 days pay and was awarded 3 days Confined to Barracks. On 12 Feb 1943 Staley was charged with having been AWOL from 8:30am 7 Feb 1943 until 11:30am on 12 Feb 1943. In addition to forfeiting 5 days pay he was aso fined £1. On 28 February Stanley was again foud guilty of having been AWOL I10:00pm 27 Feb 1943 until 7:15am 28 Feb 1943. Automatic forfeiture of a days pay, and Stanley was awarded 14 days Confined to Barracks.

Stanley arrived in Australia aboard the SS Zealandic with his parents Tom (43) and Eliza (42) and 9 siblings ranging in age from 18 to an Infant. They had sailed from Liverpool, arriving in Fremantle on 7 Dec 1911.

During 1933 Stan had married Mary Margaret Whitaker. Electoral Roll entries: 1930 - 1931 at Latham, farm hand; 1936 at 179 Lake street, North Perth, office cleaner.

War Service

Original enlistment was in the CMF on 12 Sep 1940 when he was posted to the Western Command Bulk Issue Petrol and Oil Depot. He was called up for full time duty on 30 Sep 1941 and on 16 Jan 1942 he was setached to the Special Mobile Force at Bushmead until 17 Aug 1942 when he was transferred to the 3rd Australian Corps Troops Supply Company. On 15 Apr 1943 Stanley was transferred to 37th Australian Company AASC. On 21 Apr 1943 he was allocated to the 128th Australian General Transport Company.
