On 18 Nov 1943 Jim was again ill and admitted to the [[110th Australian Base Hospital]], rejoining his unit on 6 Dec 1943. He was admitted to the [[37th Australian Camp Hospital]] with Boils on 25 May 1944, and at this time he faced a Medical Board which deemed him as 'B2' on deafness grounds. On 16 Nov 1944 he was transferred to the [[75th Australian Camp Hospital]] before being sent on to the [[37th Camp Hospital]]. On 18 Feb 1946 Jim was tranferred to the [[110th Australian Base Hospital]], remaining with them until 6 Mar 1947 when he was transferred to the [[Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot]] for discharge which took place on 26 May 1947.
