Early Life
Ernest Thomas Thatcher was born in 1872 in Bedminster Somerset, England.
Marriage
Ernest married Jessie Janet Thatcher (nee Pryor). They were married at Emmanuel Church, Maida Hill on 2 February 1913, Westminster England. They had 6 children; Frederick Mark Thatcher, Ann Janet Thatcher (twins), Alice P Thatcher, Thomas Pryor Thatcher, James Pryor Thatcher, Corisande P. Thatcher.
Emigration to Australia
Ernest arrived in Western Australia on board the steam ship "Orama", leaving England on 14 February 1913 arriving on 18 March 1913.
Occupations
In Ernest's early time in Australia, he and his work partner Tommy Talbot drove sheep from Mundrabilla Station to Perth, with camels to carry their goods.
Electoral Rolls
According to the electoral roll in 1925 and 1953 he lived at "The Old Homestead" Byford (also known as Wattles Creek Farm Byford), and in 1950 and 1954 he lived at Fourth Road Armadale. Ernest's listed occupation on electoral rolls was a Dairyman.
Death
Ernest died at the age of 83 on 15 August 1955.
