Brief History
This unit was formed in Perth during early 1940 to supply medical units in WA and from April 1942 until February 1943 its name was changed to Western Australian Line of Communication Area, Depot Medical and Veterinary Stores. By mid 1942 the Perth Depot was only operating as an issue depot, with the main bulk depot at Kalgoorlie. In February 1943, the depot moved to West Perth, with a sub depot at York. In October 1944 the unit reverted to its original name - Western Command Depot Medical & Veterinary Stores, and it continued to operate from West Perth until the end of the war.
