Early Life
Richard was born in c1804 and baptised on 20 March 1804 in Molland, Devon. His father was John Cockram and his mother, Mary Cockram.
Marriage
Richard married Betsy Cockram (nee Elizabeth Buckingham). (Died 4 November 1888 at 78 years of age). They were married on 3 April 1834 in Molland, Devon. Richard and Betsy had five children, Mary born 1835, Edmund born 1838, Edward born 1841, Edwin born 1844 (all born in England), Ephram Richard born 1856 in Western Australia.
Electoral Rolls
According to the the English Census Roll of 1841 Richard's occupation was a Shoemaker.
Immigration
Richard and Betsy and their 4 children arrived in Western Australia on board the ship "Sophia" on 27 July 1850.
Death
Richard died at the age of 77 years on 23 April 1882.
