The third ship by this name owned by Elder Dempster & Company who operated as the African Steamship Company Ltd on the UK, East Africa route. In 1916 she was operating in the Mediterranean and did convey Australian troops from Alexandria to Marseilles.
Sold in 1939 to Italian company Fratelli Rizzuto of Genoa and renamed Fortunestella. Sold again in 1941 to Flota Mercante del Estado of Buenos Aires and renamed Rio Tercero, she was sunk 100 miles (166 km) east of Atlantic City on 22 Jun 1942 by U-Boat U-202 on a voyage from New York to Buenos Aires. At 12.34 hours on 22 Jun, 1942, the neutral Rio Tercero was torpedoed and sunk by U-202 off the US East Coast. Linder reported that the ship displayed no neutrality markings and was recognized as Argentinian only after the attack when questioning the survivors.
