Brief History

Thi sunit was raised at Nadzab in New Guinea during September 1944 from disbanding signals units. They moved to Madang in October before establishing a new base at Jacquinot Bay on the south coast of New Britain in December 1944. They moved during Decembe 1944 to Wunung Plantation with detachments spread out with engineer woking parties in support of Infnatry troops advancing towards Wide Bay.
