Brief History

The second unit with this designation, this unit was formed with 60 beds at Alice Springs in SAeptember 1942, before moving to Barrow Creek with detachments at Banka Banka and Elliott to service the convoys travelling between Darwin and Alice Springs. In February 1944 the main hospital relocated from Alice Springs to Banka Banka, but in May 1944 the unit was disbanded.
