Brief History
After the 2nd Bulk Issue Petrol & Oil Depot returned t Chermside in Queensland from New Guinea in May 1944, it 2nd Platoon was re-organised as the 65th Australian Bulk Issue Petrol & Oil Depot Platoon in June. The platoon moved to Redcliffe in August to join units preparing to support future 1st Australian Corps before returning to Chermside in October and then moving to Moorooka in November and Redcliffe in January 1945. In March the unit moved to Morotai and worked with 1st Base Sub Area until the end of the war.
