Brief History

This unit was mobilised at Bathurst, New South Wales in late 1941 to support the 5th Australian Infantry Brigade Group. In February 1942 they moved to Narellan, and in March to Cronulla with a Company at Kensington. In June they concentrated at Wallgrove before moving to Western Australia in July. There they established themselves at Bushmead before moving to Gingin in October, and then Mingenew in November 1942.

Between January and March 1943 the unit was in training at Oakajee River before relocating to New Marracara with detachments at Moonyoonooka, Mingenew and Dandaragan. In July 1943 they moved to Perth for traiing at 110th Australian Base Hospital, and then in August to White Peak before returning to an operational role in the mid-west during September.

With the decline in troop numbers in Western Australia between early 1943 and January 1944, the unit rejoined its host Brigade and travelled to Queensland. At Kairi they were reorgnaised on a tropical scale, but were soon after disbanded in July 1944 along with the rest of the 5th Infantry Brigade Group.
