Brief History
Camp Hospital Rottnest was raised on the island in July 1940 with 30 beds to service the fixed defence and supporting units on the island. In June 1942 a re-organisation of camp hospital occurred, resulting in the unit's name changing to 39th Australian Camp Hospital. With the effective closure of the fixed defence units, in February 1945 the hospital was disbanded
