Brief History
This unit was formed in Fremantle in late July 1943 to command the 454 Heavy AA Troop (Static)' and 455 Heavy AA Troop (Static) to establish gun positions on Garden Island which was chosen to provide a future fleet Base for the British Pacific Fleet. While the operations of many batteries being turned over to the VDC, these units continued to be manned by AMF troops due to their isolation.
When all VDC units were palced in reserve due to the reduced likely hood of danger in December 1944, this units\'s personnel joined with those from Leighton Battery at Buckland Hill to form 802 and 804 Anti-Aircraft / Coastal Artillery Batteries, with 804 Battery designated to man new guns at Point Peron. When this was no longer required the 804 AA/CA Battery was absorbed by 802 AA/CA Battery
