Brief History
This unit was originally formed as 25th Machine Gun Training Squadron at Northam, Western Australia in March 1942. In August 1942 it was renamed 25th Australian Divisional Cavalry Training Squadron, and then in November to 25th Australian Cavalry Training Squadron. In doing so they absorbed the 10th Light Horse Training Squadron which continued to provide equestrian training for the last operational, horse based unit in the Australian Army. The main unit was disbanded in October 1943, while the Light Horse section continued until February 1944.
