Relieved in March 1944 by the 3rd Air Maintenance Company, they moved to Chermside in Queensland and then Wongabel in August. In August they were attached to the AASC HQ unit that would accompany the 26th Australian Infantry Brigade that had been tasked with landing at Tarakan Island off North Borneo. In March 1945 they moved to the staging area at Morotai, and then landed at Tarakan in May where they remained for the rest of the war.
