Brief History
The 11th Supply Personnel Company resulted from the expansion of the AASC Details in Darwin in early 1941, to include a section of the 4th Supply Personnel Company from Queensland. The first mention n a War Diary is dated February 142 when their strength was 7 officers and 164 enlisted ranks. The unit included detachments at Adelaide River and Katherine. In April 1942 Company HQs was located at Adelaide River with additional detachments at Vesteys and Noonamah. In June 1942 further detachments were in operation at Winelle, Pine Creek, Mataranka and Larrimah.
The unit was split in April 1943 with units at Adelaide River and further north remaining in the 11th Supply Depot Company, those south of Adelaide River formed the new 12th Supply Depot Company. From January 1944 personnel in 11th Supply Depot Company were organised into 72, 73, 74, 75 and 76 Supply Depot Platoons. 72 and 76 Platoons were at Adelaide River, 73 Platoon at Noonamah, 74 Platoon at Vesteys, and 75 Platoon at Darwin. 69 and 70 Supply Depot Platoons were raise din Darwin and Noonamah in April 1944 to expand the 11th Supply Depot Company, and in May Company HQ moved to Noonamah where 88 Supply Depot Platoon joined them in July from South Australia. From August 1944 detachments worked at Wyndham and at Truscott Airfield in the Kimberely.
In February 1945 69 Supply Depot Platoon left for NSW where it was disbanded while all other elements moved into the Darwin area.
