During 1935 Sydney married Mary Amelia Quirke (1915 - 1998) in Northam. Mary died at North Beach on 13 Mar 1998 aged 84.

War Service

On 17 Apr 1942 Sidney enlisted for part time service in the [[9th (Northam) VDC Battalion. He was placed on Reserve on 31 Dec 1944, with that ceasing on 15 Oct 1945.
